Epson 3800 doesn't print entire image
« on: October 10, 2009, 11:26:43 pm »

I have an Epson 3800, with PS CS4 on an XP SP3. Up to now, it has run just fine. HOWEVER, today, I tried to print an image on 17x22 paper; the image is 19"x15.3". Only the bottom 1/3 of the image printed. It was an ABW image.

In the paper selection drop down, I didn't see C type paper, so I created a custom size of 22x17. In the CS4 print dialog box, the image looks just perfect.

Any idea why only 1/3 would print out?

The printer has the following parameters:
scale is 100%
profile is 3800 HFAB ABW 2880 icc

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Ron

I have created custom paper sizes but always defined short side first.
As an example 11x15 because that how it is expected to be fed into the printer.

Hope this helps

US C 17x22 is a standard size that should show up in the printer's standard paper size options. If you did not see it, is it possible you had another printer or an unspecified printer in the "Format for:" print setup dialogue?

I just opened an image in CS4 and chose to print it. I selected the Epson 3800, went to "Page Setup", and under "size" I picked "US-ANSI", and the bottom item in that list was "US C 17x22".

If you have a second printer (I have an HP LJ 1200 which is my default for text printing), the selected printer always (annoyingly) reverts spontaneously to the HP when i am in Photoshop, so I always have to be careful to select the 3800 for each print.
