P&S pixel count seems to be stabilized
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:51:24 am »

Yes that makes about 1 year that the pixel count for Point an Shot camera has not increased.

Look at new models, most are 10 or 12 MP.

The G10 is an exception.

Now it seems that most of the manufacturers have understood that Dynamic Range is also very important.

So it would be a good idea to implement HDR modes and FAST Bracketing in future P&S cameras.

Have a Nice Day.

Thierry,
I also wish that manufacturers have come to the conclusion that pixel count is not the only factor worth putting R&D money into. But I'm not too optimistic…
Canon has backtracked on pixel count with the G11, let's see if other manufacturers can follow Canon' on that path.
