I also can't imagine a better medium format platform than the Hy6.  They should try to get their lens palette back up, from 300mm to wide angle, and address their notorious service tissues, and I can't see a medium format system that could compare.

I don't think you can formulate a fair opinion about the camera in a just a perfunctory examination.  It's layout is different than a DSLR and a lot of MF cameras and it takes some time until the camera becomes a transparent extension of your vision - but it can and will. As an example - it does take a little while to get used to the WLF.  The first time you use it, everything will be backwards and awkward but it can become over time a very wonderful feature for composing images well.   From your website, I see that you've only been shooting seriously for a few years.  Are you sure you can come to a fair conclusion about any of the gear?
Well yes, I think I can draw this conclusion after using a camera for a couple of days. I still like my old V camera, even though I don't use it anymore. It feels solid and great. For me the Hy6 doesn't. That's all I'm saying. A WLF is nice, but even nicer is a large format camera, with a black cloth over your head to compose the image.

Well, indeed the Hy6 is an exciting system. I put my money where my mouth is and got myself a Hy6 from Franke & Heidecke a couple of weeks ago, in addition to my 6008 AF. For the moment with film backs (the 6008 AF with DB20p), but that may change in the future.

that's why I use one . I have found that when under the dark cloth, I have a little space all to my own. No one else can enter, unless I let them. Only I know what the photograph will look like until the film is developed and printed/scanned,etc...

You should get back into it, I don't relate to the whole "zen" thing in any way, but to me, being under the dark cloth is like zen. Perfect peace, tranquility and serenity.

Why do you think am I using my Phase back with a large format camera every time I can. It is just so much fun to work.
