Tasmania - East Coast
« on: October 06, 2009, 07:39:02 am »

I got back on Saturday from 8 days on the East Coast of Tasmania with the family (bit of a family holiday  ) - but, managed to squeeze in a little landscape photography along the way.  Here are three I have got around to processing.

Bicheno Rocks at Dawn

Convict Ruins at Stanley
Canon 1DS MK3 w/ Canon 17mm F4L TSE (about 1.5 degree of tilt) F8.0 1/15sec ISO 100 - PP Lightroom 2.5

Historic Richmond Bridge at Dawn

Comments welcome.

P.S... if you travel on the Spirit from the mainland.. avoid hitting the bar hard (you might end up asleep on one of the bar sofas  )

Nice images Josh, the first one works very well for me.

I just loved Tasmania when I visited in May 6 years ago, need to go again.

Cheers,
Bernard

Hi
a mistake perhaps? Stanley is in Circular Head (of circular head fame...) on the NW coast. I don't remember any convict ruins there either, but it's been a while.

How I love Tasmania!

Thats correct - these ruins are at Highfield - about 500m out from Stanley to the West. This was a final stop off for me as I had time to kill before catching the boat back from Devenport, so drove up to Stanley and Highfield. Technically you are correct - its NW.

Thanks Bernard - I like the first as well.

I loved the lines and perspective in the first shot.  I'll be there next week.  I'm looking forward to some similar action.
