New Macbook color calibration
« on: October 01, 2009, 10:18:56 pm »

I calibrated my new macbook Pro that has the latest version of Snow Leopard installed.

Please note that my calibration knowledge is quite limited - I only calibrate my monitor so I can get a good sense of what my RAW files look like while processing using DPP.  I don't print myself, so its only monitor calibration I'm unsure about.

I have been using the Spyder 2Pro to calibrate my old 3 year old Macbook and last night i used my Spyder 2 Pro to calibrate my new mac book pro.

However, i'm finding the colors are even worse then prior to my calibration - there seems to be WAY to much saturation and brightness.

I read on a posting on another forum that the issue may be with snow leopard.  Originally, I didn't consider the issue could  with the operating system, thought that it might be the new apple displays.

Any advice on whether I can continue usinng the Spider2Pro or if I need another monitor calibration system would be appreciated - as well as advice on something that won't break the bank!

Too bright, you can lower the luminance target (cd/m2). Too saturated, that sounds like a funky profile. And the Spyder 2 isn't well known for being the best instrument. Laptop screens are notoriously difficult to deal with, especially those using white LEDs.
