Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl

I recently gave Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl a try on my Epson 3800 and ran into a problem. The dot pattern is more noticeable on this paper than on any other paper I have ever tried. At 1440 is looks pretty rough, at 2880 it is smoother but the dot pattern is still very noticeable in smooth / solid areas. I looks like the ink is just not integrating in to the paper as it should. I'm using Hahnemuhle's suggested driver settings ( Epson premium luster, I also tried the glossy setting to no avail).

Has anyone else with this printer / paper combination run in this problem? Found a solution? I'm using OEM K3 / PK inks.

I've used this papermany times on my 3800 with no problems. Most recently in onochrome with ABW mode. Smooth gradients in grays.
