Epson 3800 Leaves smudges
« on: September 27, 2009, 10:16:32 pm »

On occasion, when I print with my 3800 on Hahnemuele's Glossy Fine Art Baryta I get a little smudge near the border. It's just one smudge; sometimes, black, sometimes, magenta or cyan. I have been printing with ABW. The main print surface is OK and free of defects. Any idea what this could be due to?

Thanks.

That's a head strike. You need to set the platen gap to Wide or Wider and the thickness to 5, in the driver.
