Has anyone tried the Hahnemuhle Digital Leather Folio's?
« on: September 22, 2009, 12:48:57 am »

They look really nice and I am looking for something to do a custom book - only issue I can see with them is that you cant choose the paper type - its photorag or nada - Ideally it would be nice to use on of the new Baryta papers.

Are there other suitable options? I dont want to do a blurb book - I want something that is a one off.

any other thoughts or options?

I'm not sure why you consider Blurb books something other than "one off", since you custom design the entire thing. However, if you are looking for something you can print on fine art paper, you might consider the Moab Chinle presentation system (http://moabpaper.com/chinle-presentation/).

Sorry - should have been more specific - I want to print it myself on an IPF5100 where I can better control the quality of the output. That is why I dont want to use Blurb.

I looked at the Chinle - its ok - but there are a few things I dont like about it. Its a bit agricultural looking with the exposed metal bindings in the inside and open spine. Not really what I am after.

What would really be ideal is the Hahnemuhle option with either Fine art Baryta or Photorag Baryta; which unfortunately are not options from Hahnemuhle.

I guess another alternative is to choose my preferred paper and then get it bound as a one off.
