H3DII-60 is classic vaporware, so far.

its announcement was simply a spoiler to stop people buying Phase at the point where Hasselblad lost the lead in digibacks.
the product was not ready or remotely imminent, and I suspect is still a ways off...

As if $43K is a fire sale from Phase, please. I guess Dick is waiting to create any photographic art until he can unload that piece of crap H3DII-50 for the infinitely better H3DII-60. (insert sarcasm for the tonal inflection challenged)

How do you know the H3D11-60 is "infinitely better"? ... ¿I thought that there were only a few in circulation?

Will the H3D11-60 be the market leader when it comes out?

...¿and what is so wrong with the H£D11-50? (apart from the lack of live view)

...PS I am waiting and hoping for an improvement in health - they think I have an ulcer.

Just to clarify - there is no Phase One fire sale, regardless of any imminency of competitive products. Phase One (at least in the US) has not made any adjustment to the pricing of the P65+ units since they began shipping and they continue to sell well.

I see nothing wrong with Dick's desire to upgrade from an H3DII-50 to an H3DII-60. If it gives him whatever he feels he needs to fulfill his photographic vision, more power to him.

To further clarify we have never sold fires and never will sell fires. It's dangerous and prone to get out of control.

Yes they are.

Dick, I'm not sure where you're going with this thread. I don't want to misunderstand you, so I'm asking for some help on your part.

But I will reiterate again - there has been no change in price on the P65+ thus far from the beginning, and units have been and are continuing to sell well. So I just don't exactly know where you're coming from.

Thanks,

Michael...
I feel honoured that you have posted to my topic, but English is my first language... and I have held three positions as a Technical Author, so, If I have failed to conform to LL protocol, I have no excuses.

I just drew attention to a Phase promotion/discount offer e-mailed to me from a UK supplier, and suggested that the P65+ will "soon" not be the only 60 Mpx camera on the market.

Maybe it's not a  language issue - I mean just because two individuals speak english doesn't mean they're going to understand each other....

But you did name the thread "Phase sell off" and your first post mentioned Phase One "selling off" the P65+, which implies (at least to most english speakers) that P65+ units are being dumped, prices scalped, panic ensuing as everyone runs for the hills because of the H3DII-60. I asked several times for you to clarify. Then you asked if Phase One was selling all the P65+ units they make, answer is yes. Generally, exclusive, new products are not price promoted upon launch. Now that the P65+ has been out a year, it is possible there could be promotional efforts, although we've seen nothing here in the USA. But even so, that would not be considered a "sell off".

Steve...
It seems to me that you are the only one who is panicking, and if Phase are selling all the P65+s they can make, I cannot see what your problem is.

I expected most members to read my implied suggestion that Phase would be worried about the H3D11-60 with good humour ...and your "panic" response to this topic has only drawn attention to it.
