Are Epson Printers working right for anyone under Snow Leopard?
« on: September 04, 2009, 12:39:53 pm »

Having beta tested Snow Leopard on one of my machines before the release with essentially no problems, I did not hesitate to upgrade my production machine as soon as the real version was released.

Big mistake.

I use an Epson 2200 and have printed reliably from earlier versions on the OS using several different version of PS, currently CS4. Rather than reposting the full story here, a couple links:

http://www.gdanmitchell.com/2009/09/03/upd...d-os-10-6-issue

The symptom is that using the normal approach to printing out of CS4 ("photoshop manages colors" etc.) the result is a totally unusable very dark blue/green print. It apparently is an Epson driver issue. At first I thought it was just limited to the 2200, but the more I look into it the more the Snow Leopard incompatibilities with Epson drivers seem to affect other printers and perhaps scanners.

I hear a few reports of successful resolution with some of the newer printers, including the recent one linked to from the "What's new" page here at LL. (I guess it helps to have "Apple executives" for friends? ;-) I have also read a number of purported solutions to the issue that don't really resolve it - I've mentioned a few of those at my links.

So, overall, what printers are or are not functioning correctly here?
