Andrew, Yes! Don't change a thing. Everything's just as it should be. Yes, someone's going to tell you the area around the window is blown out. It is, but this is one situation where it can afford to be. Someone's going to tell you to crop off part of the top of the picture. Don't! The shutter speed was very good. You caught those ghosts, and especially the hind ghost's foot. It's a fine piece of work.

Weird place! Interesting, esp. with the people and I also like the perspective and the light-distribution. This is already looking good in small.

I think that is a great image - could be from the Hogwarts School magazine (or possibly Beauxbatons).

As Russ said, please don't change a thing.  EXCEPT!  The image size!!  2+MB is killing my internet connection. h=850 w=1200, size = 500KB is much kinder.

Thanks for sharing.

The photo was taken at the Maison Forte de Reignac located NW of Sarlat in the Dordogne Region of France (about mid-way between Les Eyzies and Montignac (where Lascaux Caves are found)).  It's a building built into a natural cave with displays about evolution of man found in the region e.g., the cro-magnum "species" and later ancient peoples and a 16th century or so chateau/fortification.  Basically the front half is like the typical old castles and the back half is a cave.  It was a well-done "museum" and I would recommend it if anyone is visiting the area (as well as recommending the Lascaux 2 cave - which is a reproduction of the original cave with cave paintings of bison/deer etc. on the order of 17,000 years old - note on Lascaux 2 - you get a 40 min guided tour in 13C cave and they do not allow photos (and we only found out about the no photos once the tour started))

Thanks for that: I must go the next time I'm in that area. I recently went to the caves at Pech Merle and had a similar experience to yours: lengthy trip, no photography allowed. It's a fascinating cave, with wall paintings and wonderful stalactites and stalagmites, interestingly lit, and my right index finger was itching throughout the tour!
