7900 unwanted "hidden" cleans
« on: August 23, 2009, 04:19:53 am »

Hi all,

my 7900 was repaired 2nd time because of clogging problems and now I experience weird "hidden" cleans. It happens to approximately half of the jobs, in the beginning it takes longer before the printer starts laying down the ink and the head moves around the docking station for 1 or 2 minutes - the display doesn't say it is cleaning though. When I look at the job monitor, the print usually consumes 2.6-3ml of ink more than it should - it's visible on small test strips, which normally take just few 1/10th of ml or when I print the same job twice and one of them eats about the 3ml more.

Do you experience the same behavior? Maybe that is a "feature" of the new electronics in the printer (last time the motherboard and ANC board were replaced). I am pretty sure that before the repair it didn't behave like this. Sadly the nozzle clogs got even worse, I left ANC ON for some time to test it and I get 20-30ml cleanings every 2nd start or so
