Printing With Leopard (Mac), HELP!
« on: August 22, 2009, 02:35:52 pm »

I've just upgraded my OS to Leopard in order to accept the latest version of Capture One. It may be co-incidence but now the printer interface when printing from Photoshop has changed dramatically, I can't for example access Epson Advanced Black & White. I've downloaded and installed the latest Epson driver but it doesn't make any difference. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

In the driver window, try clicking on "layout."  You should get a drop down menu allowing you to select "print settings" and other choices.  I switched from Windows to Mac (leopard) a year ago and that was the part I found confusing with the Epson driver.

Thanks John, but unfortunately that didn't solve it. I don't seem to be able to access the AWB dialogue at all with Leopard!

Wow, ya think we're mind readers? Unless you can tell us the printer and the exact print driver version, no, I doubt anybody would have any real good ideas...

It's an Epson R2400 with driver 6.57, CS4 (although it's the same situation when printing from CS3), and Max OSX 10.5.8.

Thanks

If anyone finds themselves in a similar position, look to see if QuadTone RIP is showing up in the Epson dialogue box, if it is and you have legacy QuadTone software make sure to remove it (there's an uninstall package on QuadTone's site). This fixed it for me. Or at least nearly fixed it, I'm stil left with the "dark B&W printing" problem, but that seems pretty well documented elsewhere.
