Where in Nevada was this shot ???
« on: August 16, 2009, 09:58:14 pm »

I'm trying to find where this shot was taken. I know it's somewhere in the Gerlach region of northern Nevada and it's on a private ranch. I'm hoping I can turn up at the ranch and offer a bottle of scotch or some similar gift in exchange for letting me attempt this shot. I find most people don't mind so long as you ask first.
I've seen several great shots of this natural feature, Michael Fatali as always has a great one.

If anyone can tell me where it's taken I'd really appreciate it. I'm in Reno and raring to go.

Many thanks Andrew Waddington

That would be that ol' Fly Ranch Geyser at Fly Ranch Hot Springs, located in Hualapai Flat about 24 km north of Gerlach, Nevada.  So sez Google.

Fascinating looking place. But here is one caveat.

I guess the work-around would be to buy the ranch.

Ok... being shot is a rather large caveat!!

I guess you better have your own gun with you just in case!

Dunno about that thing, why do I think of fiberglass and Disneyland?

Googling in Image mode is a great way to find locations.

Your best option is to check out this link

They occasionally do trips there.
