eMotion75 - memory cards
« on: August 03, 2009, 11:56:19 am »

I got problems with two Transcend 8GB/133x memory cards in my Sinar eMotion75 back. I can use them in 5D without problem.
4GB Sandisk works fine but it´s time for buying som bigger ones.

Do different cameras like different cards?

Did you use the same memory cards in different cameras?  If so did you format them on the computer before putting them into the next camera?  I have seen where problems may occur if you switch the same card between different cameras. I have not seen any problems with using an 8GB card in the eMotion.

No, I always use them in one camera/back and format them in that camera. When the cards didn´t work in the eMoton I put them in the Canon just for testing. They work fine in Olympus also.
Never a problem with the 4GB Sandisk in the eMotion.

Hmm, it is probably the brand of the card.  If you look at the website for Transcend I do not see Sinar listed as a compatible camera.  That is probably the issue. You will probably have to go back to Sandisk for the eMotion.

there are reported many errors in writing empty files on cards with newer firmware on the emotions, search here in ll for.
preview looks fine but thats all, you cant zoom in because there is just the preview jpeg embedded, no data. i stopped to use the cards and work with compressed files only in the internal drive. works fine, although i prefered the times when cards still were working. some backs seem to work, some not. it seem to be not depending on the card type.

your card may not support 16 bit host transfers?
Look up " IORDY "
