It seems that digital cameras usually or always have an infrared filter, removable in some high end models, and every DSLR needs dust protection for the sensor.
Would it be feasible to have the IR filter located in a removable but dust sealed mount just behind the lens mount?
Dust would be kept out during normal lens changes, and us fans of IR photography could do it with just an occasional swap to a deep red filter.
