Lower prices on D3X
« on: July 28, 2009, 11:52:47 am »

Seems like all box stores are selling D3x @ $7299. Has anyone seen any lower?? I am tempted, may be someone can nudge me off the high diving board.

A month or so ago, Amazon had it in stock for an even $7K, and it was sold by Amazon, not one of their affiliated sellers/vendors. They went pretty quick though, I got the last one. Ended up being a pretty good deal (well, relatively speaking) since I also get free shipping with Prime. Amazon has them back in stock now, but at $7318 so I'm not sure if the previous pricing was a mistake or what.

The real question is, "When will we see the D3X sensor in a D700-size body?"  It seems inevitable to me in the near future, unless Nikon doesn't want to compete with Canon for a more affordable, high-megapixel body sans vertical grip.  Rumor is that it will be announced before the Christmas season.
