Out of curiousity, I inquired at my regular dealer what the differential would be for trading my 1Ds in on a 1Ds Mark II. He wasn't even interested in talking about it. He has a waiting list for Mark II's and had two "essentially new" 1Ds' that aren't moving at $4995. I would think that this price for a 1Ds would be very attractive and am surprised that there are not more takers. IMHO the $3000 differential between the 1Ds and the 1Ds Mark II isn't worth it. I suppose it might depend on really how much better the Mark II's noise handling is and if that means a great deal to one's approach. The 1Ds price held up very well until its replacement was actually available and one would expect the same for the Mark II. Any thoughts?
