Sinar Germany closes
« Reply #20 on: July 08, 2009, 07:32:19 am »

From the perspective of Sinar's distributor here in the UK (and please read this as a hope, rather than anything else), Sinar should take over manufacture of the Hy6, maintaining it as an option in the MF world. The system would be opened to other back manufacturers to make it viable (though with Hasselblad and Phase One - let's include Leaf under Phase One for now - effectively committed to camera platforms, one wonders about viability and integration). Sinar would then maintain the current line of Sinar-badged digital backs, but probably not develop new ones. Sinar already has good established presence in the 'niche' market, even more so with the recent arTec, and the Hy6 would become part of that in-house portfolio. Sinar is set to make an official announcement towards the end of July, so let's see what happens!

Speaking personally, I've enjoyed the Hy6 far more than the H1 which I had for several years and would be very sad to see it go, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping...

It used to be at
https://shop.strato.de/epages/Store10.sf/?O.../Shops/15493234
as an  integral part of the German dealership (www.Sinar.de).
The web shop is currently closed and it was said that the web shop will be reopened at www.sinar.ch. I looked and found only a new
manual, added in June 2009:Tech Data of Sinaron Digital CEF lenses used with Sinar arTec Cameras.
No web shop yet and no announcements.
