Hi

Curious if anyone is using the tilt/shift adapter with the RZ?  I'd like to find out if it would be useful for controlling DOF in close-ups and macro ...

Interested also in which lenses you are using even if not short barrel .... my idea is to use it for tabletop product shoots.

I'll be using this with an RZ Pro IID and P65+ ...

Thanks!

Hi,
I use one with the 180mm SB for fashion and portrait work.
It's a great addition to your toolkit and it works, but it doesn't work with the other lenses I own.
You can buy them relativly cheap at www.keh.com by the way, new they are very expensive.

Does the P65+ use micro lenses? IF not you should be good to go.

We have this exact kit in Miami and Atlanta if you'd like to see it for yourself in person.  If you can't make it to our locations we can ship it for a rental/demo anywhere in the US and rental price is credited towards any purchase.

The 65+ and 40+ work exceptionally well with tilt-shift. They require less LCC correction than the 25+/45+ and can except strong movements.

Frank,

Thanks - I've already ordered the T/S adapter, 180SB, and 75SB (from KEH btw) on a guess that it would work well - but its nice to have confirmation!

When you say it doesn't work on other lenses is it just that they don't focus at infinity and have a limited working distance or other factors?  My plan is pretty much to use it as a replacement for the #1 extension tube in macro work to give some tilt control - but I'm concerned other lenses may not have a large enough (workable) image circle.

Hmmm - Snook that's a very good question - seems it does not from the other posts - but maybe I should have asked about that prior to ordering the P65+ though -)   I have an impulsive habit of buying things on just a concept and not really checking all the details first hehehe.  Thankfully it appears it will work out this time for both the DB and the T/S adapter kit.   But I should be more careful in the future..

Doug - thanks for the offer. I have the T/S adapter on order arriving Monday - waiting on my P65+ from CI in August.  When I have time in my schedule I'll be visiting CI in Atlanta for training later this year!!

I never tested it outside but I could not get a good focus inside the studio not by a margin, so it's not only infinity that doesn't work I guess.

Frank - thanks for the feedback.  My order from KEH should arrive in a few days and I'm quite excited to try both the the 75SB and 180SB in any case (albeit on Velvia).  Though I don't shoot fashion or portraiture just out of interest what effect do you achieve with the 180 in T/S ?

Wow. Got it. That's quite a unique technique.  Exact inverse of the intended use of the tool I think.  I really need to think more out of the box....
