Hi All,

I recently came to the conclusion not to buy the circ. polarizer from Cokin (X-pro). The reason is that my 19 mm on a full frame would demonstrate uneven polarization and color shift. Now I have to do the job with only ND grads. What are my limitations, can I still get the most out of landscapes without one, to what degree am I cripled here?

Many thanks

Any polarising filter on a very wide angle lens is going to give you uneven effects. That´s because the lens covers too much sky and the colour across that area is not going to be seen as a single, constant tone at the best of times. Either keep doing verticals to make the sky smaller or use a longer lens.
