Smart Collections - Is it possible...
« on: June 19, 2009, 07:09:13 am »

To Create a smart collection called.. say 'Portfolio Images' that contains any image in the library that has a color label applied to it. Then create a sub smart collection inside the Portfolio Images smart collection to further divide the images by color?

I may be missing something but it doesnt look like there is a way to create smart collections inside other smart collections in a heirichial (spelling?) folder structure.

Any help?

You cannot create smart collections within smart collections. However, you can create collection sets. If you created a collection set called "portfolio Images" and then in that set create a smart collection for red labels, one for green labels, one for blue labels, etc., then when you choose the collection set it will show the aggregation of all its contained smart collections. (If you don't see that check that "Include Photos from Subfolders" is on. You can access that from the Library menu.)

Thank you very much - I missed that.
