I've been chasing these red-wing blackbirds for awhile now, and today I found some better places to sneak up closer on them.  Lake Erie has a lot of fabulous locations, but you have to be prepared for bugs.  A lot of bugs.

Panasonic G1, 45-200 at max. zoom, ISO 80.

I think for this type of shot you need to get yourself a DSLR body which can comfortably handle high ISO, plus a Big Honker to screw on the front.  The image just isn't quite sharp enough, and the bokeh is not pleasant.  Nothing wrong with the photographer, but in this case the equipment let you down.

Lyme Disease-carrying ticks, too.  Be careful out there!
