Epson 3800 for $1180
« on: June 04, 2009, 11:29:41 am »

This is at CostCo online and includes shipping. I don't know if this is a good price, but CostCo usually has good bargains and I thought someone here might be interested.

Epson has (had?) a 10% off refurb sale.  I think a 3800 refurb could be had for $900.

(It is very important to go 3800 shopping before printing on the HP B9180.  It knows what you're up to and behaves.)

Yep, the refurb'd 3800's are $895 until June 30th with free shipping.  I purchased one in May.  It was very nearly new and included a fully new ink set.

On the other hand, Epson had rebates on new ones recently if purchased with paper.  The CostCo price or Amazon's put the net cost close to the refurb.  I don't see the rebate on Epson's site now, though.

Boy....IT Supplies had a super deal on 3800 refurbs at the print academy in Chicago; I think they were $600 or $700...what a steal!  Sorry....I suppose not really relevant today other than to illustrate how low a good deal can go for these great printers.....

Now they are offering the 3800 (new) for $1195 with free shipping, Epsons $200 off rebate, and the Epson rebate for media (listed below).  Not a bad deal!!

I bought a box of Epson Exhibition fiber from them at the show for really good deal as well...I think it was $40.

EPSON MEDIA REBATE on IT Supplies webiste:  http://www.itsupplies.com/
Purchase an Epson Stylus® Pro 3800 printer, together with one box Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper, 8.5" x 11" (S045033) and one box of Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper, 13" x 19" (S045038) between June 1, 2009 and August 31, 2009 and receive the amount paid (before taxes) in U.S. $ for both boxes of Exhibition Fiber paper by mail.

Todd in Chicago

EDIT:  P.S.  It looks like they also have a refurb in stock for $749 with a one year warranty from Epson....sounds good!

These are all great deals.  I've had my 3800 for a little over 6 months, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.  The prints are outstanding.  Sure, roll paper would be nice, but for this price, I have no complaints.  Don't wait for a new model.  Get it while you can!
