Covered Bridge at Peninsula Ohio

The first was taken in early 1975, just before the bridge washed out in a storm. The bridge was rebuilt circa 1986, with motor vehicle passage disallowed.  The second photo was taken last week with the Panasonic ZS3. The colors aren't quite right with this one yet. What I really miss with the new bridge are the signs, which give the original a really authentic look.

The old bridge was a real working bridge and therefore had more dignity. The replacement is mere window dressing for the nouveau riche--probably the brainchild of the local realtors association.
