MacBook Pro choices
« on: May 30, 2009, 04:17:04 pm »

I allready own a unibody macbook pro (upgrated from my old Power Book), but I need a second one for doing photoshop work on the go. So running a bit out of cash, I have a dilemma. A local Mac reseller has some previous gen Macbook pro (2.6 core 2 duo, Led screen, 4Gb ram 250HD 17" Matt) which he sells for 2000Euros about 700Euros less than a similar Unibody with 2.66Ghz, 320GB HD, double graphics card, etc. Is it worth the extra 700 and how slower would the older one be? I never used the generation before unibody ones so I was wondering if any of you have done some comparison or could advice me on which way to go and  why. Mind you, I need to do equal work with both the one I have and the on I ll buy. Thanks in advance.

Well I made up my mind and got the older one, since the price difference was even greater (paid 1800 for 17" Matt Led Screen 2.6 Core2Duo, 4gb RAM 200GB HD 7200rpm) and I actually like the older style better than my new one. Speedwise, there really isn't much difference with the new one, at least when running photoshop and Lightroom... I recon it was a bargain
