Looks like a network problem.
Did you check the IP number of the printer on the printer panel and whether that is used in printer utility?
The last shows the number next to the printer icon in the first startup window.
Ping from your system to the printer IP number and the connection is there?

In any event, if the connection is lost and won't come back you should delete the driver and reinstall or add the driver again. I have seen this for years with HP. Even with the same USB connection, with changes made like updating sometimes the driver will no longer point to the write path.

Try that first. It usually works.

It is possible to use both usb and network connections. Drive it for prints with USB if that has any adavantage for you and connect printer utility or your browser over the network connection. Sometimes it is better to copy the IP address of the printer manually to the applications.

Even a Mac must have a command mode entry somewhere.

http://kb.iu.edu/data/amog.html

The command is: ping 192.168.0.35            Of course that IP address number should be the number that is visible on your printer panel and the printer has to be connected through a network (cable). The system will send 4 times data to the printer vice versa and check what arrives. Check what port (and its properties)  the 4 Z drivers now installed use and remove the ones that do not have the corresponding IP address.

You could also do the testprint from each driver and take out the drivers where no print will appear. Of course the USB connection doesn't have an IP address so the last method is more universal.

On a Mac of course you can use the GUI for doing so called Network Utility  in the Application/Utilities/Network Utility. Use the ping or Trace Route if you like.
I have seen multiple printers reoccurring entries before. It's not easy to clear, or at least it wasn't for me. There is a script that HP engineers use once and a while that strips out any and all HP registers but it will also clear every HP thing on your Mac.

Hi

go to the setting panel and pick the printer icon. when the window is open, there is at the bottom on the left hand side where the printers are listed, a + and - (read plus and minus sign) select the printer and click on the minus sign, to remove the printer, keep doing this till they are all gone. disconnect the printer, restart your mac - connect your printer, install any drivers if needed.

And I am on a PC :-) so doing this from memory
