This was taken this past weekend.  The overhead clouds prevented even lighting of the entire scene, but I think it turned out okay.  Let me know what you think.

Where does the reddish color come from?  It isn't volcanic, is it?

Good old Hawaiian red dirt.  Hawaiian soil has large quantities of iron in it, the oxidation of which produces the resultant orange color.  Kind of funny to think of the dirt as rusting...

They sell in Hawaii a thing called Red Dirt Shirts. They dump into the RED Dirt a white tee shirt and then wash it.It looks like, well, a red dirt shirt.

Quite a good landscape. But that blue sky sure looks unreal.

Jason, It's a splendid shot, not in spite of the clouds but because of them. The lighting is perfect. If you'd have had even lighting it wouldn't have been nearly as interesting a shot.

Thank you all for the feedback.  I did do a slight vibrance boost, but the majority was done with a 3-stop ND grad filter.  The sun washed out the sky completely, so I was using filters almost all day.
