While not exclusively Chinese art, a book I used as part of a year-long art history course was by Lee (I think the first name was Sherman), titled: A History of Far Eastern Art. It is a very good book. You can probably find a good used copy online. Or you can check Powell’s books in Portland (OR). They are one of the biggest and most diverse book stores on the west coast (at least).
Another recommendation is to send an email message to the dept of Art and Architecture at a local university, and ask someone who is a professor of art history for some suggested reading.
BTW, Eastern art history is a fabulous study!
