I don't think it's ugly, but the crop is awkward: it needs to go right to the top of the frame. Then you have the contrast of the curly vine and its straight support.
With a lot of work, you could remove it in post, although the part at the bottom where the tendrils are would be very time consuming I imagine. You might be able to clone the stem upwards perhaps?
(Not using the clone tool which can create obvious repeating patterns if you aren't very careful, but lots of small well-feathered selections with irregular edges.)
