I bought two extra batteries, I dont ever need more than the one in the camera. I will keep one and sell a battery. It was purchased new from BH Photo last summer. It is a genuine Canon USA product. I have never used this battery. I just charged it and kept it charged about once a month or so since. It has been in my bag by the other battery, so it has very light imperfections, but not deep scratches.
