I agree, viewfinders are important, and the a300's viewfinder is small by current standards.  That said, I'm not sure it's any smaller than the D70's.  They both have 95% coverage.

Having played around with a G1 at a store, I personally prefer the a300's viewfinder to the G1's EVF.

Really?  How long did you play with the G1?

Admittedly, not very long.  And like I said, it was a subjective preference.

I'll put in a quick mention that, while not 100%, the K20D's viewfinder is pretty darn nice as well...  Same approximate area as the E-3's, but likely a little brighter since it's enlarged less, second only to the D300 in the realm of APS-C, really...
