Seeing Double on last 1/2 inch of print
« on: May 13, 2009, 07:43:42 pm »

I just started having this issue as I started to print some images for having some custom profiles made.

The printer seems to slip or something on the last half inch of the print, and "I'm seeing double".
See attached image (low quality, but you'll get the point).

Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?

I used to get that on my Epson 3000 if I didn't load the paper perfectly.  At some some point the sheet would press up against a side of the outfeed table and "straighten out" while printing, usually toward the end of the job.  Is your paper bumping into anything on the way out, or sliding against some edge?  I suppose a very curly paper could do it too, are you cutting down rolls?

It is a paper that is curly.  Thanks. That's probably it.  I'll try printing on some other flatter paper today.

I had a similar problem. Near the end of printing the paper would skew a bit and ruin the print. It was never consistent and eventually went away. I think it was the particular brand of paper causing the problem.

The curl was the problem.  Love the texture of this paper, but could do without the curl....
Thanks for the tips!

Alos turn off bi directional printing on this paper. It looks like there is a second pass that is printing after a paper shift.
