Table / Stand for medium sized printer like Epson 3800
« on: May 10, 2009, 09:29:49 pm »

The Epson 3800 is too big for my existing desk space, so I'm in the market for a table for the Epson 3800 to rest on. Besides the printer, what else would naturally go on this table? Paper (I'm using a roll currently), replacement ink, drafting brush, dust cover (when not in use), anything else? I was thinking about a foldable table potentially, since I will be using the printer in two locations in the next 4 months. Would a table like this work or would it be too unstable? When the Epson is printing is there a lot of movement/vibration in the printer? Any suggestions on stands/table?

The Ikea stand is the one Michael writes about at http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/...ate-stand.shtml. Unfortunately they are having production problems with it and my local Ikea didn't have any in stock. Instead I bought a 30" and 18" base cabinet from Ikea and a kitchen countertop from them to support my iPF5100 (which is quite a bit larger than the Epson). It's great. I have two HUGE drawers and six smaller drawers to hold all my stuff.

That Amazon one looks likeit may be wobbly. I bought a Metro wire rack with casters and several shelves so I can also store paper and prints on it.

Hi.....

Although this is probably a bit of "overkill", I've found this table perfect for my Epson 4880.  The details are in this thread:

Did the table come with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot? If so, I might want a new table for my 3800.

LOL!!

Eric.....I had forgotten about that photo.  At one point there was a lot of discussion about how big the boxes for these printers were; I included the champagne for scale.  :-)

Cheers....

I am using a cheap IKEA plain pine open cabinet, it's about 30" tall and 16" on the sides. I laid it on its side and use the bottom part of it (open to the front) as a (very low) bookshelf.  The printer sits on it perfectly I like having the printer low because I can slide the stand and printer under another work counter when not in use, and the stand takes up the minimum space needed for the printer.
