Do Epson 4800 inks = 4880 inks?
« on: May 10, 2009, 07:44:04 pm »

I know that the vivid magenta and light vivid magenta are not the same but I was wondering about the others.
For example, on ebay many inks are sold for the 4800 and 4880 and advertised as such.  But what about inks that are only listed for the 4880 with no mention of the 4800?
Is there a point in time, where the chips in the 4880 inks only recognized the 4880 and not the 4800?  Now a days, all 4880 inks seem to have the same part number as the 4800 inks.  But was there a point in time where you could not use a 4880 ink in a 4800?

Thanks

What about expiration dates?  I just bought a 4800 and the inks expired in 2007.  However, the printout is excellent and better than what I was getting with my R1800.
Is the general consensus that expiration dates don't matter?
