Anyway to match colors of 2 shots from different lens?
« on: May 09, 2009, 02:55:35 am »

If I shoot the same scene with a 50mm lens & another few shots with zoom 70-200/f2.8 mm the shots don't match due to the lens internal color variation, this happens both with canon & sigma lenses.

As of now we do it in photoshop> match colors but do we have any such method in LR to match the colors to one given image?

50mm is most neutral in color variation, else i would have to do custom WB on each lens change which is sometime not possible when shooting in fast changing light such as morning evening.

How do you mange such situations?

How about using the DNG profile editor to build specific camera profiles for each lens ?
Sadly there's no way I know of that allows you to automate their application on a 'per lens' basis as yet, but you can just filter all the shots with a particular lens and then apply the setting to them all. Much faster than having to match each image in PS.
