Ausable Chasm

If anyone has photographed Ausable Chasm in Adirondack State Park in NY,  is this a sunrise or sunset shoot? Is there a best time of year to visit?
From photos I've seen there isn't much foliage in the Chasm so I expect that the time of year will not matter but thought I'd ask, just in case.
