Canon ipf5100 new firmware is out
« on: April 16, 2009, 11:52:53 pm »

I'm in the process of getting my brand new ipf5100 set up, and while I was doing assorted updates I discovered that there's a new firmware (1.38) that was released on April 13th. I personally downloaded the one for Vista x64, but I imagine they have a 32-bit version as well.

Here's the direct link to the x64 version:

They also seems to have a relatively recent media update (Feb 25th, 2009) at http://support-asia.canon-asia.com/content...0200052402.html.

Well, I succeeded in installing the firmware update, but the updated Vista x64 driver doesn't seem to work on Windows 7 Beta. It gives an error when it is at the point of trying to add the printer. The older driver works fine though.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else here who is on Vista x64 can get the updated driver to work.

Thanks!
