Landscape locations in Tampa,FL area?

I'm going to Tampa for three weeks on business and wondered if there were some recommended locations nearby for landscape photography?

I was in the same dilemma a few weeks ago.  I found that Myakka river state park, near Sarasota, provided several days of good wildlife and landscape shots.

I don't find Tampa a very good place for landscape.

Another place to consider is Ft. DeSoto just south of St. Pete Beach.  It's a very nice park but better known for bird photography.  If you are serious about bird photogrpahy there, order a copy of Arthur Morris's guide to Fort DeSoto though Bird's As Art.

If you go to Myakka River State Park, check out the city of Sarasota.  The Ringling Museum and home are quite good.  Saturday morning has a nice little market in the downtown area - and the restaurants are quite good.  You can also enjoy a nice drive along the Gulf between Longboat Key and Bradenton.
