« on: March 04, 2003, 08:20:21 am »

Sorry,

99% of the information I requesterd has been covered in Michael's article on dust. If I knew how to delete the original post, I would do so.

Dust on 1Ds

One of the few complaints I've heard about the 1DS, is the necessity to remove dust from the chip often. I admit that this concerns me.

A camera salesman at one of my local reputable dealers told me that a lot of this problem results from changing lenses while the camera is powered up. He says that when the chip is "charged" it attracts more dust.

Is this plausible. if not, is the dust issue a problem that could be fixed in future cameras, or is it something that will always be with cameras with large chips? Further, if you use a 1Ds, how much does the dust issue really trouble you?
