I wanted to add that I too am new to this site.
However, whilst I also have a sincere love of photography. And, I am a enthusiastic student. I find I am now too old and gray to make a living at this game. Thus, I most eagerly want to become far better and far more competent; which, without a lot of years ahead of me is limiting. Nonetheless, I am challanged by these limitations and anticipate I will find a vehicle somehow....on gaining learning experience without my having a youthful appearance and being young enough to have those who know far more than myself, offer help, advice and (their) experience.
I am surprised (also) as a Canon camera owner that Canon doesn't offer near as many workshops or learning opportunities as those offered by Nikon.
It seems to me from every photography magazine which I purchase and read...that Nikon has a one full page advert or more wherein they are offering a school, a workshop, a trip, a programme...or some learning opporrtunity to their Nikon owners. Whereas, their primary competitor, Canon, offers none in equal number or contrast.
Yes, of cousre, Canon offers a workshop school in Los Angeles, as well as, Aspen. And, New York. And, Chicago. However, those few locations are hardly providing much of an opportunity to the thousands of Canon owners who live 'through-out' the US and Canada.
Or, do you guys see this complain differently?
Again, I do welcome the new guy. And, I also welcome myself. Another new guy - with a gray beard.
Respectfully,
