My first "gig".....
« on: April 07, 2009, 01:48:49 am »

So,

I had my first REAL photo shoot today with a very nice young couple who wanted engagement photos with their kids. She's quite interested in photography and wanted to have some more "edgy" pictures taken. Well, I did my best to do something I really can't stand.

i) taking pictures of *shivers* people.

ii) doing that whole "RAD action" type PP'ing that the kids like.

Here are my attempts at this foreign and frightening expedition.

All photos taken with A900 + beercan/28-135mm/85mm/ Sigma zen 18mm:

I'd say you've done a great job considering this is the first time you do this kind of shooting.
A few frames feel a little crowded though, especially #6. I like the idea of #2, quite dynamic and vibrant, get a slightly less busy background and it'll be a superb shot IMHO.
Just my 2c

thanks for sharing

I agree. There are some damn decent shots here. In the first photo, I would have pulled them out of the harsh light--you can see it especially on her face--and shadows, into more shadow, then used a fill flash to brighten up their faces. Pulling them away from the wall would have made the gum more blurry too and not shown the fill flash. Overall, nice first job indeed.
