Phocus Tethered to a PC
« on: March 31, 2009, 12:43:56 pm »

I've been testing Phocus V1.02 on a Windows machine with a Hasselblad H2F and CF39 MS back for fine art repro.

The good:

1) Being able to control camera focus from the computer;
2) The live video function is more elegant than the Flexcolor version;
3) Great GUI;
4) Preview thumbnails and image display are big and clear;
5) Phocus immediately recognizes my camera without having to relaunch the application a couple of times as is the case with Flexcolor most of the time.

The not so good:

1) Cannot read RGB values when I point the cursor or eyedropper to a spot on the image. Only gives RGB values on dark greys and blacks. On whites and light greys it only gives a reading for the "B" value.  Colors in between dark grey and white get "G,B" vlaues, but not red. Am I missing something here?
2)  Have not been able to figure out how to get custom ICC profiles in and specify profile output;
3) Have not been able to figure out how to have imported files reside anywhere other than the desktop. Am I missing something here?
4) Not quite as stable as Flexcolor.
