Bar code printing on the 7900
« on: March 28, 2009, 07:11:55 pm »

Sorry for bringing all my printer woes to this forum as a new comer. Hopefully I'll be contributing to solutions in the near future.

My latest problem came about when I un-loaded a (bar coded) paper roll to insert a sheet paper to run a nozzle check.
Procedure went as so... rewind (coded) roll paper > change to sheet paper and load a 8 1/2x11 sheet > print nozzle check > 3 colours clogged, perform "2 colour" clean > re-run nozzle check, result good > re-load previous (coded) paper roll...

This is where the problem begins.

The printer does not acknowledge the (coded) roll and asks if I want to register a new roll...I say no and try and reload again...same result, so I say yes and enter previous roll values/footage then proceed to print. Big mistake as the printer did not recognize the need to cut off the bar code and printed directly over it.

Is there a way to over ride this and get the printer to recognize the data printed on the paper?
