off-line landscape and nature art gallery
« on: March 24, 2009, 02:13:52 pm »

Hi all,

I am looking for 'real', I mean not online, art gallery specialised on landscape and nature photography.

I live in Spain and there is not a single one over here (apparently neither in the rest of Europe).

A web search gave me just one correct response, the Bartram gallery (all other results are about online gallery).

Do you have knowledge of other similar galleries in the States/Canada? What about Europe?

Thank you,

David

Two landscape photographers (Galen and Barbara Rowell's estate and Tom Till) operate brick & mortar galleries which feature their landscape photography.  Both are in the United States (Rowell in Bishop, CA and Till's in Moab, Utah).  I know there are others, although none come quickly to mind.

Rowell's gallery has featured work other than Galen's, but I don't know if Tom Till's gallery shows work other than his own.

You would probably do a better search by using individual names such as John Fielder, who used to have a real gallery in Denver, Colorado. Michael Fatali has a gallery in Springdale, Utah, David Brookover in Jackson, Wyoming, etc.

cheers,

Elizabeth and Olof Carmel have a photo gallery in Truckee, California: http://www.thecarmelgallery.com

Alain Briot is a frequent contributor to these forums.  Alain, do you have a gallery or are you working out of your house?

Michael Reichmann (owner of this site) has a gallery in Toronto.

Thank you very much for the info, useful links.

However, apart from the Galen and Barbara Rowell Mountain Light Gallery, all of them are like personal galleries, created by photographer to exhibit and sell their own work.

I should have mentioned in my message that my aim is to look for galleries which may represent my work.

Any clue?

Thx

David

Funny, I live in the area and have been documenting the gentrification of Abbot Kinney Boulevard, on and off, for 20 years.  I saw the gallery the last time I was there but not during their business hours.
