Round up of latest high end backs?
« on: March 17, 2009, 12:15:58 am »

Dear all,

Is anyone aware about any objective review of the respective qualities of the latest high end backs: Hassy H3D-50, Leaf AFi Aptus 10 and Phase P65+?

The hassy is much cheaper than the other 3 and I am wondering to what extend this relates to actual differences in image quality.

Thanks.

Regards,
Bernard

Leaf recently cut prices for the next six months.

H3DII-50 $27,995
Leaf AFi 10 $29,995
Leaf Aptus-II 10 $24,995
Phase One P65+ ~$40K

Yes, it would be interesting to see if the files show an advantage matching the huge price gap between phase and its competitors.

My current assumption is that there is basically no difference in image quality and that decision should only be based on price vs features.

Cheers,
Bernard

Bernard,

H3II-50 $28,000.00 Plus camera, plus lens, PLUS excellent customer service

with the options to exchange, for the 60 when it come out.

P65+ the is only 60 $40,000.00 without camera.

Blas,

Did you mean an offer to upgrade at a price or to exchange at no cost? Didn't notice it on the website.

Price is clear, how about quality?

People discuss at lenght the difference in image quality (or lack thereof) between a D3x and A900 although the price gap is only 5000US$, yet nobody seems to be interested in figuring out if a 40.000 US$ P65+ is really better than a 28.000 US$ H3D50.

Cheers,
Bernard

Well I'm not the person to tell you about p65+

But between p45+ or H3D-50 I like more the 50, the quality is much better.

I got raw files from both if you wish to have it.

Now if you think about the p45+ go for $28,000.00

the 50 for the same price, but with lens, camra, and excellent service.

I don't about the rest, but I love to be with the same family,  Hassy back, camera, lens, and the best of all .  "Customer service"  They will answer your email/phone call, you can't go wrong.

But that is me.
