Camera to print: film scanning
« on: March 16, 2009, 01:05:30 pm »

Totally trivial, but I can't help myself....  I was just doing some revision, revisiting "From camera to print":

In the "scanning film" section, in the Silverfast settings, you entered "3200" in the lpi field (Q-factor) - surely you intended to enter it in the dpi field (which was set to 4000) ?

I've always wondered if there are any rules to follow about what resolution to set, in order to avoid up- or down-sampling in software. Or if it matters. Or indeed if anybody cares any more...
