Paper supplies (UK based)
« on: March 16, 2009, 09:22:37 am »

I've just got a new HP B9180 having been out of the print side of things for a while.  I can't seem to find anyone with decent stocks of papers so that I can order some sample packs.

Also, if anyone can recommend a cheaper alternative to HP Hannamule Smooth Fine Art (308) I would appreciate it as it's hugely expensive!  Other recommendations for printing in B&W most appreciated too.

Thanks

Charly

Might be worth looking at Permajet. They do a good range and the prices are not too bad. Thier Fibre Based Royal range is excellent for mono work (but also one of thier most expensive papers). They also do a good sample pack. Look on www.permajet.com

Ouch!  Since it's more expensive than MP Hanhamule, I think I'll give it a miss - high end paper is a lot like crack.

I've recommended them here before: www.morco.uk.com were pretty good when I used them: friendly, quick service and keen price. I bought Ilford GFS from them, but they seem to my largely ignorant eye to have a decent range of other papers (including Hahnemühle) as well. Don't be put off by the design of the web site!

(I have, of course, no connection with morco save as a satisfied customer.)

I've ordered paper from the following retailers in the last six months and it worked OK in all cases:

http://www.speedgraphic.co.uk/
http://www.on-linepaper.co.uk/index.html
http://www.silverprint.co.uk/

Prices vary among retailers. On-linepaper has a good range of paper samplers.
