My website is updated with new images (some already proposed and improved on this forum, thanks to all!) and refined treatments, with a few layout tweaks too.

Any comments and critiques, whether about the flask or about the spirit, are gladly welcome as usual!

Sorry to bump the thread, but I'd like to know a little detail : do the main gallery pages show well with InternetExplorer 6?
I'm specifically thinking about the centering of thumbnails in their frames.

Nicolas,

I don't have IE 6, but it works nicely on IE 7, as well as on Opera 9.64 (my main browser.)

It is elegant and clean and easy to navigate. And your photographs are lovely. I didn't see any "losers".

I think I remember that when I tried an earlier version of your site, I couldn't see an easy way to get back to the home page when I finished with a gallery. Now it seems easy, with "Back" and "Contact" up on the right. I would like to see a page of text, perhaps called "About Me", which tells us a little about yourself, your photography, and your goals.

Two tiny quibbles: On the vertical images the text at the top, giving location, date, and time, is often cut short. And the ad for "3D" looks a little tacky, but it may not be easy to remove it.

Beautiful work!

I thought I ought to do that when I'm famous... Or at least when I got a bit more traffic.
But you're right, it shouldn't harm anything besides my shyness.

The caption is sometimes too long, yes... I don't think I can wrap it without some deep dive in the javascript code of the gallery (it's basically TTG's Shadowbox, slightly modified for the menu and the panorama thumbs - which might broke the vertical centering of thumbs) but I may find a setting for the font size (or a way to shorten the caption).
For the 3D ad, it's bound with PicLens I'm afraid. Just don't hover the mouse on it.    The only solution would be to give up the slideshow ability...

Thanks for your comments!

Problem solved - luckily, it needed only a bit of tweaking in the CSS.

Thumbnail vertical centering problems, anyone?

Champsaur, Hautes-Alpes, Chabottes - 24 septembre 2007, 18h41 is amazing.  End of story.

Thanks Elby!

Just a little line to let you know of a new gallery, "Paysages grenoblois" ("Landscapes from Grenoble") to play with the intrication of mountains and urban elements.

And yes, I finally added a little About page (two actually, one in french by default and another in english). It's accessible via the main page and the "A propos" link at top right.

Niko,

I like the additions. Very nice. Perhaps the "a propos" is a liitle more modest than necessary: You have beautiful work here!

Hello Niko,

I like the design of your website: it's nice and "clean". You have many fine images and I particularly liked image #16 from the Balades section. A couple of comments regarding the actual website:
- The images took a tad too long to load on my system - sometimes over 10 sec (I'm on a 4Mbps ADSL line).
- Every time I pressed the back link on the upper right side of any gallery page, there were problems with the redrawing of some of the thumbnails of the home page (although this is corrected by hovering over the page; the browser is Safari).

Keep up the good work,

- Christos

It's probably my hosting... sometimes it's OK and sometimes it's #{&%! slow. I think I ought to seek another one on a shorter term than I thought.

Ouch! CSS compatibility strikes again? It seems the dimensions of the thumb is not taken into account in the container...

I saw an approaching problem with IE6 : the thumbnails have a weird size/proportions before you hover on them. It seems that some thumbnails inherit the dimensions of some others (probably the neighbor but I can't be sure).

For the moment I didn't find a good solution for both issues, and just wonder why the hovering cures them, sorry.

I didn't post about updates in a while... this one is more substantial :
- I have moved, so the "Paysages grenoblois" gallery has been replaced by a "From my (new) window" one,
- some new pics at the bottom of the Panos, "Neige" (snow) and "Natures vivantes" (not-so-still lifes) galleries,
- some older pics, either unpublished or forced out of the galleries by the new ones, in a "Restes" gallery (much more crowded than the others, please tell me if you feel there's too much in it).
