I received mine last week after ordering in December. Unfortunately the adaptor isn't working properly -- the encoder chip is not communicating EXIF data. I've sent Mark two emails and left a message for help on his forum but have heard no response yet. Does anyone know how to contact him or does anyone have other advice of fixing this? Here's part of the email I sent to Mark. (Thank in advance to anyone who can help me.)
Hello Mark,
I received the adaptor today and have tried using it with a Nikon 14-24mm G lens.
The only problem I've encountered is that EXIF data is not being record. When I open the files in Aperture, the settings always read 50mm and f2.
The focus confirm works perfectly on my 1ds Mark II. On my 5d Mark II, it blinks -- I'm assuming this is why you write that the adaptor works more smoothly on the newer cameras without the pin. Since I can't afford two adapters, I just want to make sure that the pin isn't likely to damage the 5d (rather it just effects the focus confirm.)
Please let me know how I can correct the EXIF data problem. I have readjusted the stop screw numerous times and am confident that it is precisely as instructed. I've also started the overall installation a couple of times. Perhaps it's a malfunctioning encoder chip?
